My eyeballs, they bleed.

Seriously? White font on a bright red background? It's like they're actively trying to get people to NOT read their fic. I'm sorry dear fanfic writer, you could be the next freaking Shakespeare, but I'm not going to make my eyeballs bleed from your insane color scheme.

Urgh, I hate that too! I have damn good vision, but nonetheless I'm not 20 anymore and some LJ layouts are just illegible. Thank goodness for style=mine!

My vision's definitely not the best (too many hours squinting at fic without my glasses!) , and unfortunately, the fic was in a personal archive. I was following random recs for smart!dean fic -- which makes your icon especially awesome! Love Jensen in glasses!

Oh gah, on a personal archive with no options other than squinting, skipping it, or copy&pasting is you REALLY want to read it. That sucks! I love Jensen with glasses, too. *mourns the loss of them with his LASIK* ;)

In some browsers you can use this to zap the colors no matter where the page is. If it weren't for the "zap colors" applet I would never read most fic.

I've seen them before, and I kinda hate to admit it, but I never could figure how to get them to work :) Those and mood themes: totally my downfall! These days I'm using firefox on a mac, and I don't think they're compatible anymore.

Would be sooo useful though-- there's still plenty of buffy fic out there that can only be found on black backgrounds.

I use zap colors in firefox on my mac. But I can't explain how they work other than I literally clicked and dragged the "zap colors" button to the bookmarks bar thingy and then when I click on it it gets rid of all the color. I am bad at explaining things. /o\

No, you totally are good at explaining things! I just did it! Years of failure solved by one comment -- I don't suppose you know the secret to installing mood themes that work? ~grin~

I use that 'view in my style' thing more and more these days--I hate losing the pretty on other folks LJs but oy--I hate beating myself up to read something even more.

I know! I end of missing out on some really cool looking custom themes, but it's so much easier on the eyes.

He is pretty, isn't he? *grin* That's Bright (Chris Pratt) from Everwood.
