I'd definitely do exactly as you are doing--I couldn't live a minute in a place infested with roaches, and obviously a bad problem if you have them in the *fridge*! I think you're bring more than generous and don't let him snow you. You pack your stuff and *go*!

It can't be very healthy but I'm going clean out the fridge, spray it down with Raid and just keep my stuff in sealed containers -- protection against both the bugs and the Raid.
