I always thought it would be neat to see the missing years between Midnight and Vox, back when Cowlquape and Vox were still young men. How exactly did it all go down?

You know what I think? I think Vox used a girl to betray Cowlquape. A girl who thought she was in on the joke, so to speak, but who winds up feeling just as betrayed as CQ, because Vox just sees people as means-to-ends.

I would love some Rook gen hurt/comfort (with emphasis on the comfort) set at any point during Vox, but not when he's inside the Palace. Is that too specific? ;)
