Stolen from vernsrevenge:

"if ur religion in ur household was different than the one in mine, and we had different morals, is it ok for me to bust in to ur house and kill everyone inside and try to change way u think and live? president bush thinks it is..."

He makes a very good point.

I mean Saddam was an asshole. He killed a shitload of people. So if my neighbor was killin a shitload of people I'm pretty sure I'd do somethin about it. But see the US government knew about all this before. Bush did this for a bunch of fucked up reasons, oil, bloodlust and glory. I'm all for overthrowing dickheads, but if you're goin to do it fucked up style for re-election, chances are shits gonna get crazy, and it did.

Yeah, I agree about Saddam. It's great that we got that mothafucka. But that wasn't the only reason we went in there.

I think that statement is brilliant, but not well thought out about who it refers to. If you read it closely, you'd realize that that's actually what the people we're fighting think.

First of all, religion is retarded. Second, the U.S. has division of church and state. Third, we'll never really know what the fuck is going on with our government.

First off, you have no solid reasoning behind religion being "retarded". Regardless of your own opinions, some people believe in God and you have to respect their opinion as well. I won't "bash" you for having your own beliefs, but I am going to defend my own. Secondly, it's true that we have separation of church and state, but America is known for being a predominantly Christian country. And lastly, I agree that we will never know what our government is really doing. I just like the way that this guy put his statement.

Corey's solid reasoning religion being retarded:

1. It causes shit like this. Even though I don't think it has anything to do with us being at war, it does causes wars.

2. Look at history. You'll see the pattern that religion exists to explain what science has yet to uncover. At one time, the sun rose because of Apollo. Earthquakes, tidal waves, and other natural disasters were cuased by Poseidon. The only question left is, "where do we come from?" We'll see what happens when that's answered.

3. Religion has also been used so much for power, politics, and corruption in the past, it's lost credibility for me. Forty percent of our bible was made up for politics. On top of all that, it was made up by a pagan.

But yea....just wanted you to know I wasn't full of shit.

And I wasn't disrespecting your faith.

I agree with number one definately, but I must re-phrase what I said earlier. I agree that the bible is not a good source for anything, because there are too many contradictions and I've done alot of research in the past about it. It wasn't, however, written by a pagan. The bible was written by many people, not just one person. There are many controversies about the bible's origins however...since the original texts "mysteriously dissapeared", or quite possibly never existed. M. M. Mangasarian once wrote that "The Truth is that The Bible is: A Collection of Writings of Unknown Date and Authorship Rendered into English From Supposed Copies of Supposed Originals Unfortunately Lost." My personal belief is that there is a definate consciousness that, at it's root, is what we call God. In keeping with that, I believe in God, and I believe that God IS the answer to all things, but I do agree with you that religion is taken out of hand...well, at least organized religion. It's not "retarded" like you say, but organized relgion IS ( ... )

It really pisses me off that the draft might be coming back. But, regardless of how pissed it makes me, I'm not going to be a bitch and leave the country if it does. I plan on enlisting if they do start the draft and I'm eligible...that way I'll have some sort of choice as to what I do and get substantial training before being tossed into war. If you're drafted, you usually don't receive as much training as you would if you had enlisted and you have no say in what position you're put in. There's no way I'd leave the country tho...I love America, even tho it has alot of problems; there's no way I would ever live under a different flag.
