If a blind man and a man with perfect vision are together in a dark room, then they are both equal. It is only when the room is illuminated that their differences are apparent; the man who has his sight can see the light, whereas the blind man is still in darkness ( Read more... )

i didnt read it to good but your right, there is no beginning or end to numbers. there is no end, its infinate. but yes, 0 is the middle point.

btw, stop trying to be so philosophical. leave that up to confusious... and also, what you said is common sense, just in fancy lingo :)

Okay Matt, since you're so smart, prove that zero is the middle point of infinity. And that's exactly what I'm saying Matt, there is no beginning or end to numbers because they're inifinte, but what I'm questioning is the concept of infinity itself. If something doesn't have a beginning or an end, then logically it doesn't have a middle either...the middle is the substance, so without substance it doesn't exist.

And what do u mean about stop trying to be philosophical? The first part of this post is an excerpt from the Gnostic Gospel's (I think it's the Gospel of Timothy) of Nag Hammadi. It's not a word for word quote, I just tried to get the concept across as best as I could.

ill try to explain this as best as possible cuz its hard for me to say it;

the thing with numbers is that it is an infinate-beginning-middle-beginning-infinate thing....

numbers DO have a beginning but the ending is infinate... 1 and -1 are the beginnings and the middle being 0. if you have more questions on my perplexing theory, please ask so i can demonstrate visually more on my beliefs on number beginnings and endings :)

The only thing that justifies zero being the middle number considering the concept of infinity are imaginary numbers, just so you know. I realised that after I made the post. Otherwise, without imaginary numbers, you could say that 2,335,654,095 is the middle number because you have no beginning or end to justify a center.
