We're already having big fires around here. If there is one thing that terrifies me it's fires. Ten years ago we had a huge fire right up on the hills by my house, and it jumped over the highway, went into the ravine/valley two blocks from my house, and burned 5000 acres. Looking outside it was like, you know, a scene from Mordor. My only thoughts...grab the cat ( It was Gangsta at the time), and my lockboxes, and go.

The fires are so scary! I hope that everyone can stay safe, and I am so glad that one that came so exceedingly close spared your home!

Sorry to hear about your drought. We're pretty dry, too, and we're burning because of it.

It's not as much a worry here in the city as it is in the mountains and foothills.

As I read this I'm watching the radar map. Rain all around me, but not actually over me. Hoping we get some rain, too, but it seems like lately it just breaks up as it gets to us.
