I'm so sorry to hear about your dad, Roman. It's pretty scary how fast all the symptoms can hit a person and when they look back they realize that it started long ago.

Because there is diabetes in your immediate family, you may want to start getting tested every year with your annual physical (if you get one). It's just a brief fast and some blood testing.

It's sad how people don't realize, or look at, all the problems with being overweight other than the obvious ones. It seems like people don't think about diabetes at all.
