So yesterday, I had an exam. Calculus. So since there were two hours between my last class and the exam, I decided to spend them cramming.
Somehow, in my cram-time, I managed to find quite a bit of spare time to doodle, and then to take pictures of my doodles. All of them. :) (Beware, most of these are blurry)...

I can't decide if you are a scientific artist or an artistic scientist. Chemistry, calculus, clothing design, painting and drawing, cosmetology...you are one fascinating individual.

Take the science part out and leave "artistic".... I like Chem a decent amount, but not well enough to keep up with it, I hate Calculus (hence all the doodles, almost all of them were from my calc note book)... I'm not particularly good at clothing design, but that's more a lack of practice than anything else. Painting and drawing I love, but I don't think I can get by on just that. *wonders what you mean by cosmetology* -- oh, hair dye? *laughs* that's just fun.

So maybe an artist with various other tendencies, moderate to the extreme? (general curiousity first among them)...

BTW, who are you? Do you have a LiveJournal at all? Do I know you from somewhere else?

No, we do not know each other, and while I had a LiveJournal for a while (posting trail camera photos), I've switched to blogspot; my trail cam photos are now posted daily at www.riggershop.blogspot.com

I just found your journal by accident a couple of months ago and have followed it ever since. Steve in Ohio

Ah. Well, hi there. *nods politely* Ehm, thanks for your interest.

(I must admit I was a little "O.o" when you-- it must have been you -- commented saying you were a "random stranger"... but a bit of an explanation can lower the raised eyebrow).

I've never been to Ohio... well, once I had a flight transfer switch in Cedar Rapids, that's in Ohio, right? but that doesn't really count.
You probably know by now that I'm in Colorado. :) (It was snowing for the first two weeks of April! damn mountain weather)

That apple blossom skirt is so cute! :D I'd totally wear it. I love this whole flower-themed skirt idea!

I like it toooooooo.... I think I'm getting a bit carried away with it though. Ha.

I need to work on the buttercup one some more..... I'm thinking now that I'll just paint acrylic-paint medium, the clear kind, around the edges of the fabric for an easy, simple, wrinkle-free hem that could also help shape the 'petals'....

I don't thing you are at all :D I think a tulip skirt should be next! 8D

Hmm, dunno... don't want it to look too stiff. But then again, I don't know exactly what effect acrylic would have it. Would have to see it!

ack, a tulip?? (I've actually heard of a current runway fashion called 'tulip skirts', but they're a bit less literal in their interpretation....)

The acrylic would make it stiff, but I need it a bit stiff around the edges and over the top third or so to form the shape of the flower instead of just floppy petal shapes (I'd probably paint it on one side and dry it bent over a shallow kitchen bowl or something). I was considering threading a wire through the hem, but it's very difficult to hem such a round shape, and the hem ends up wrinkly and very obvious. I'll practice the acrylic and see what effect it actually has, though, on scrap fabric and not the actual pieces...
