Mystery Guest and general ramblings!

I am now officially a Mystery Guest, a paid food critic! :) The company tells me to eat at a certain restaurant, when to go and some basic criteria to judge. Then they reimburse me for the meal (usually for me and one other) and $5 for my opinion. Okay, it is not a lot of money but I have to eat out for work a lot so why not have my opinion count

I am so jealous! How did you manage to get a spot on the crew?? I can't find anything on the website about volunteering! And you probably will get to meet Ty. From what I've seen, he makes it a point to wander around and personally check in with everyone! Unless he's off-site for one of his special projects. I'll cross my fingers that you get to meet him!

Tara, my client happens to be the architect and builder on this show. They put the call out for volunteers a few weeks ago and evidently 2500 people responded. That is just volunteers- that doesn't count the work crew. Just keep your ears perked for a build in your area. Then you can show up, tell them you want to help and presto!

Diane, I hope that your trip to SF is in early October, not late September..... Although Neil and I are now talking Johnson's Shut-Ins instead of Eureka Springs. The 4 hour drive vs a 10 hour drive made a big difference in that choice.... (However, if gas prices make a miraculous drop right after Labor Day, I'm heading for Eureka Springs instead... )

I always wondered how they got SO many volunteers to help with Extreme Home Makeover.... WOW!!!

That mystery guest thing sounds great! I wonder if they have that in Canada?

Participating in EHM will be so fun! I wish I could do it too!
