We went to OKC yesterday and Biz didn't show up. We got up at 6:00 am on the weekend, hauled our ass 4 hours down the road and she couldn't get out of bed an hour away. She has not seen Kate since she got pregnant. Kate was so hurt that she cried

That must be a hard thing to admit to yourself. How frustrating when people can't be the good person they know how to be.

Don't feel guilty. It's a waste of energy. Make your plans, be clear and fair, and you'll be fine and so will she.

I'm having a semi guilt attack... I just realized I didn't call or send a thank you to my ILs for their birthday gift to me. Now what to do? Ack, I'm a bad DIL. I'll write them a note now. Errr...

I can't imagine how much hurt you must have, I only hope that someday Biz realizes how lucky she is to have an incredible loving mother who has always held out hope for her!

Diane, we go through the same thing with my stepson and stepdaughter. It is hard for me but harder for Rudy. And also hard for their brother who is the responsible one who deserves a sibling to share life with.

It is difficult to accept people for who they are when you see them hurt good folks around them. Sorry. :(
