Mark's mom called him yesterday to let him know that Biz came home at lunch crying. Biz told her that she was sick on Saturday, didn't know Kate was coming to OKC and wants to come home on Labor Day. Man, what a bummer. It just feels so lose-lose, because when someone is living in that alternate universe of self-centeredness, they can easily suck in others, and the good folks who know better feel like they're being the bad ones for "thinking the worst." Well, I always think... once, maybe it's me. Twice, ok maybe me. Three times... it's not me anymore. It's the other person. And if people want to believe it's me, that's their problem, because by the third time it happens to them, they'll get it.

Man, that was really a difficult way to say what I was trying to say. Remind me not to post so early in the morning and maybe I'll be more clear.

Kirsten, I totally understood what you said and I agree 100%. Kath, Biz is leaving with the ILs because she was thrown out of our house for the 4th and last time. She wrote checks on her "fiancee's" checkbook after he went to jail- to the point that he was overdrawn. The bank was going to prosecute her but Mark paid off the overdrawn charges to get her out of trouble. She did not graduate from high school but has gotten her GED since she has been in Duncan with the ILs. She has kept a steady job since she has been there ( ... )

I am so sorry. These toxic personalities sure can cause havoc among the non-toxic folks who either want to think the best or have been screwed over sufficiently to not be able to see the best. I hope some day she learns to own her own behavior. I have a couple people in my life I hope the same for.

Jill, this is going to sound strange but it helps me so much to know that you and Rudy have the same type of issues with kids. You guys are so together and I admire you so much. It makes me realize that her problems are not necessarily my fault, that even great parents can have kids with issues.

First I would like to give Kate props!! I know it sounds bitchy, but I like that she told Biz to apologise! It sounds like she's willing to forgive (perhaps knowing what Biz is truely like) and move on in this situation.

I really hope that Biz straightens up, I truely admire you for the way you are handling all of this! If it helps, I think most kids would give anything to have a mom as wonderful as you!
