Fusion Hybrid at (almost) 15K

It's easy to remember the day I bought my Ford Fusion Hybrid. The story of Michael Jackson's death was all over the radio the day I signed the papers. I've put almost 15,000 miles on it so far, thanks to my 80-mile round-trip commute, so I think I've had it long enough that the oooh-aaah stage is over and I can post some level headed comments. Interesting review. One of the cars I'm considering is the Ford Escape Hybrid. I used to have an Explorer and miss having an SUV.

Sounds lovely. When they can give me all that for under $15K, I'm sold. (There's a reason I drive a Hyundai.)

I doubt you could get an Insight for $15K, but they're not a whole lot more than that.

I think I'd pick that over the Prius were I to choose between the two, but for what seems to be a petty reason: I HATE having the instrument cluster in the center of the car! Toyota does that with (at least) the Prius and the Echo. The Insight has a much more traditional dashboard.

I could take public transit to work. It would cost way more than I spend on gas, and it would take three hours each way including four miles of walking, but I could do it.

We considered the Fusion.. it's just too small for two adults and two dogs. Our current road trip proved to me just how important dual climate control really is. We like our Kia.

Definitely too small for dogs. Our Honda CR-V is perfect for that.
