And the other 80% of the lazy asses slack and put in a minimum effort -- getting 20% of the work done."

Before I delve into this topic, I owe
Princess Cheyanne thanks for reading
my last public post from Saturday and leaving a supportive comment. Much obliged!
Now witnessing and reading about the hard work
my brother, Elliot has done this summer and mentioned on five occasions between May 11 and June 12 -- not to mention the physically trying Pawn shop work that Zana (
geminiwench) has done -- have hearkened to this quotation. And although
Amber (
xtangledechox) does not often seem to bring up work in her blog, the conversations that I have had with her on the phone and in person have made it clear how much her hard work goes un[der]appreciated. While I do not know Zana or Amber one iota as well as I know El, I can tell that in all their lives, they work extraordinarily hard while oftentimes their colleagues don't do diddly s***, much less recognize what valuable assets the hard-workers are to their respective organizations.
And in many ways, I guess that the elaborate detail that some bloggers put into their work seems not to receive the recognition they deserve. For one example, I do not always agree with
Mofo on his political points of view. However, he and
M'John have developed some exceptionally funny youtube telecasts. Mofo had a countdown for the first episode and continued to post the footage. And I have not even posted an image into any of my over 400 posts -- very low-tech on my part.
What I am trying to articulate is that if Mofo and I were at the same job (i.e., blogging), he would be working a hell of a lot harder than I am.
Another real-life example is my radio show co-host,
John. As the head of the World Music genre at
WEFT 90.1 FM Champaign[-Urbana, Illinois], John probably oversees the music collection most relied upon by the most DJ's (a.k.a., airshifters). Not only that, but the music is diverse with quite a number of categories. There have been a number of airshifters who play the music but do very little to help at the station, much less with the world collection. In fact, one late airshifter received quite a bit of fanfare after his passing for his larger-than-life persona, yet his volunteer contributions at the station were not as measurable.
If you slack, especially in a team setting, you are doing yourself a disservice. There are many reasons why, but the one that tugs on my mind most is the life hereafter: Slackers compromise their personal growth when they do not apply themselves or work their hardest.
Rather than rant and foam at the mouth, I am just going to leave the topic as it is. If you do not do your fair share in something in life, ph*** you.
