I am going. I am going. I am going. Going, going, going, going. Going. I need this fact to actually congeal in my head. Today I bummed around all day playing Simcity 4. This cannot continue.

But because one of my modii operandi (sp?) has always been that mind must always deliver a giant can of whoop-ass to matter when times call for it, and because ( Read more... )

How in the world can you have so much stuff for your computer!!! I have... my computer... and a charger... and... well sure, I wish I had a cord to connect to my digital camera (and cant find one anywhere here) but wow!!

So, when I came here, I didnt bring any travelers checks. They're definitely outdated for Iceland, and I'm not sure if you'll need 'em in France. Are you planning to open a bank account and do you have a visa-debit card? (Or some of those other large credit card companies) because its pretty cheap to use a debit card as a credit card in europe, the only extra charge is currency exchange. But you'll probably not want to do that all year!

Well, I think my situation is different because in Iceland we use our debit cards for everything down to the smallest purchase (our 5 dollar cups of coffee). Ask Shannon!

I didn't bring any traveller cheques, which turned out to be a good idea.. They don't accept them here. One of my friends is having to wait until she goes to Germany to cash her 2000euros. So make sure you can use them in France. I only brought about 300 euros in cash to get me started... I'd recommend bringing a bit more... There's quite a bit of a hassle involved in getting a bank account here, something about new rules in the EU banking. yup.
