I am thinking how nifty it would be to build circuitry into a book cover, and also how hubristic it is to think this when I know nought of electronics and have yet to get to the cover bit of books. Still, a light-up book would be fantastic. Maybe I will attempt one in secret once I learn more exciting skills.

That would be ace. Or one with a fingerprint reader that knew where you'd got up to and told you which page to go to.

*adopts this as much more hubristic*

This would be amazing. You could maybe rig up LED lights on it that blinked and said "Don't Panic" in big, friendly letters?

I want that so much now! It even sounds vaguely possible. I think I'd need to have an on switch on the cover as a light-when-open one would be a bugger to read.

Books with really thick covers are cosy and don't look at all like they're just huge to fit the lights in. Definitely. I will make you one if I ever get this to work. (And then leave it in my house for months unposted, probably.)

I don't need one! I'd just love to see you make one yourself, because it'd be awesome:D.

How can you not need one? Everyone needs one!

*starts Googling circuitry for idiots*
