I am fretting about Clancy. He seems quiet.

Bit more hole. Baba thinks it is enough hole and I do not. How deep does it even need to be? My concept is "so deep that it'll somehow make everything OK" which is not very practical.

I am trying and failing to dig a hole in the garden. Obviously there is a degree of urgency but my body and the soil do not seem to care.

I am scared to go to sleep in case anything dreadful happens to anyone else. This is not logical but alas that doesn't seem to make any difference.

Clancy's been back in the cage for a bit and I see no new poos. I called the vet and then the animal hospital, who said that it may be stress and I am to keep an eye on him but if he is generally perky not to fret too hard. I am fretting anyway. Obviously. Monty died overnight. It was not too awful for him I hope. He was four and a quarter, which is not old enough frankly.

Shall clean cage and hug Clancy.

Damn. Seem to be in small pit of gloom. Lack of therapy probably not helping, Christmas panic and huge looming sense of failure at Christmas things also not good, tedious end-of-year useless-person self-loathing probably worst of all.
