Jesus Christ, y'all, a new 2-disc set of A Room With A View is ONE HUNDRED AND FOUR AMERICAN DOLLARS on Amazon. A used copy is FORTY-FOUR NINETY FIVE. YES. $44.95.

It's not even FOUR POUNDS NEW on Amazon UK.

WHAT.

They do make pricing errors. A few years back, Amazon had "Queen Elizabeth's Wardrobe Unlock'd" for a fraction of the usual (nearly $200) cost. It must have been a pricing error. After a day or two, it went back to the usual outrageous price (but not before I nabbed myself a copy, lol...).

That was my first thought, but all the third-party prices were so high as well!

That's pretty fucked up. And there are a ton of listings for the same thing in the same format with pricing all over the map. (I did see one listing for $57 for the 2-disc special edition; still far too much considering it's only 4 pounds in the UK.)

It's one of my biggest problems with how Amazon is set up these days. The number of third party sellers has increased, pricing is so scattershot and it's harder to find something. Plus, I kind of like knowing if I buy from Amazon directly they'll guarantee I'll be happy about it. Too often I have to get in touch with some other company and keep my fingers crossed.

See, I've never had any trouble with third-party sellers; I don't know if I've just gotten lucky or what. But I am super-cheap :), and I can't bring myself to pay, say, $17 if the item is available used for $9.

Alternatively, I think it is available on Netflix.

Aw, I got rid of Netflix months ago; I wasn't using it enough. BUT I did find it at the library!

Yay! I'm glad you found it.

I don't use Netflix for the DVDs at all. I use the streaming online function and watch things on my laptop when I cannot stand what people here are watching on TV (which is almost everything they watch--Spanish language soap operas, Real Housewives of Atlanta, CSI Whatever!!, Ecuadorean soccer).
