At Ben and Jessi's wedding, at the house where it was held in Mendocino, there was a set of plastic gymnastic rings. Just for fun I tried them out, and found that I could (shakily) hold myself in a seated position (the rings were low so it wasn't like I had to pull myself up to do it). However, the consequences of doing that have been problematic

The adaptor being stuck happened when my old laptop was about to give up the ghost... what happened was the plug got so hot it melted the glue or plastic holding it in place, so it was all finnicky and unreliable... then it got stuck like yours when the plastic on the tip of the male plug melted and fused with the back of the socket.

I hope your shoulder stops freaking out soon!
