I am majoring psychology and I want to specialize in eating disorders. EDs and weight loss seem to be considered either a psychological problem or a nutritional/physiological problem. It's my opinion that it is both. The lack of research on EDs is frightening, and there is entire ED-NOS category that is an unorganized catch-all ( Read more... )

well if you want info your gonna have a hard time because most sites that have people with Eating Disorders will not allow anyone to do research. Just letting you know so please don't get discouraged. If you want medical info well I think you have what there is offered. If you would like to ask questions from a patient then I would be willing to answer as best I can any questions you might have. I don't know if thats what your looking for.

i'm not sure, but ed_feminist is a good lj-community that shares lots of info and such.

i've found kim cherin to be a helpful author, and somthingfishy.org to be a helpful website. i'm also a psych major and want to specialize in women's issues and ed's. good luck!

Kathleen DesMaisons - author of Potatoes Not Prozac - has a website called Radiant Recovery. She has done a lot of footwork with addiction nutrition you might find useful.

i would say look at the library because i've found SO MUCH information on exactly what you're talking about in books there.

anyway, i think that's a really cool thing to major in..good luck
