Moral Relativism (another nice long entry : )

It seems a reoccuring theme in today's news, politics, and conversations, in one way or another, is the idea of the moral absolute. Quite a few people believe that there are many morales and ethical issues for which there is only one right/correct/good way to handle them, and all other options are wrong/evil/bad. You can only create a list of absolute morals if everyone is playing by the same rules... If one culture has them and the others chose not to adopt them into their lives... then ballance will not hold and it will fall apart again. But everyone has to agree to keep them. and that is free will... every single person gets it... and can change their minds at a moments notice.

Well, you said alot with far fewer words than me :P But what you say is quite important. Different people and cultures hold to different ideals...and in order for absolutes to hold, everyone would have to be forced to obey. This has happened throughout history (never a pretty sight) and as you implied, it cannot last long.

People need to learn to get along rather than try to own each other in some way...
