Well, the point is Hamlet overthinks everything and thinks himself into inaction. And he screws himself over because of it. (Also he's so consumed with revenge he's a total ass to the people who care about him, as represented by Ophelia, and his "quest" ruins their lives -- literally in her case... and after all that he doesn't even GET it. He gets himself killed too.) Maybe we're not supposed to feel for him, at least in an admiration sense
