When and why did I decide that this would be a good time to be really social? I have a concert to go to tomorrow and I helped out with the photo fundraiser today, and now I have to figure out how in the world I'm going to have time to hang out with people from the field school before I leave ( Read more... )

This has to be one of the most amazing and beautiful things I've read. (About photography -art in general, actually). If you do that photo project of the headshots, you NEED to include this. Even if you don't. It's too wonderful to not show off.

Thank ye. :) I'm still recovering from the experience. It really is something.

But you do realize that, for my personal project, I meant I'm going to take photos of people like... you, right? Although it would be nice to expand the project into strangers later on. We should book you an appointment with me asap. ;)

ah, whoever said friends were for companionship? not me! i knew all along our use was just to be subjects of ur photographs :)

Oh, my dearest Shari-lah... How could I have been so insensitive?! You do know that your companionship is just as good as the photographs I'll exploit you for, don't you?

Yeah, I agree with that. This was awesome entry and I can't really put a finger on why. I think that project sounds cool, because you're the subject and so it gives you a different perspective. And it's cool. I'd want to see it.

This entry made me... happy. I want to hear about all of your subjects and your camping trip and all the othe things that you haven't done yet and everything.

i want to take you to the farms east on LI. we have to go ASAP. this involves a car and out of nyc-ing. maybe it's not too late to go apple picking over there.

saturday is supposed to be beautiful....

anyway... you have described beautifully what it is like to photograph strangers. you get to love them and then they leave. you have them forever because you put your soul into every photo you take. i could hear your voice saying those things.

in a bubble on the upper west side. applying for study abroad programs and taking upper level classes for the first time, and publishing a zine for a club here.. in short.. overwhelmed. but i shall be having a big going away/birthday party before i go to which you shall all be invited.
