every time I read your entries all I can think is "god damn it...I should be in ghana right now..." I am very envious. Sounds like you're having a blast!!! I'm happy for you!
Um and can I say how jealous I am that you stood under a waterfalll...crazyyyyyyyyyness....I've always had this weird dream that I would get married under one...haha
Virginia, I have perused your LJs and it sounds like you are having a really good experience in Ghana. I found your journal through searching for "ghana". In any case, I am moving to Ghana in May and will stay for one year, I take graduate classes in Kumasi in August-May.
Are you in Accra mostly? Do you know of summer Twi classes I can take? Did you bring your laptop? I have a mac laptop, do you suggest bringing it?
Gosh, I have so many questions!
Also, to comment on your Italian roots: I speak Italian, lived in Florence for several months, and have extended family just outside of Pescara (i visited them this past summer) So I know how exciting it all can be! Have you been to Italy before? Sicily is so much more my style (compared to Florence and Tuscany in general). I am from Alabama and, somehow, it felt like home there.
