Do you have any idea how artists fund things? Or where I can rent flat screens and discreet-ish speaker systems (maybe even motion sensor friendly ones)? Cheaply?

If so, would you let me know?

This is going to be pricey.

Sigh. Yeah, that's what I was afraid of.

motion sensor friendly both I guess. Ultimately, I need the screens to play short films when stood in front of. But.. if the screens have speakers built in (and you can attach headphones usually, no?) then.. that should work, right? Or.. maybe the motion sensors have to go. Is there a way for a single button on the screen to start a film? And then make the screen go automatically back to a still after it's over?

I'm not technical enough for this. :(

Oh no no no. That is all waaay over my head. I mostly just need screens that will do what I want.

Easy, you say? Pfft. Now I know who to call upon when I'm scratching my head and/or having mini heart attacks/breakdowns. :P

Your comment is not helpful at all... and only makes me fear the inevitable.

Pffft.

is there an audio/visual department you can work with at school? they will probably be cheaper than anyone else, and usually send out a technician and stuff, and probably already have the equipment. not sure if that helps, but its worth a shot to ask, no?

Ooh.. That would be great.. except I know for a fact that someone who used screens last year had to rent them. I think my best bet is to ask the professors how seniors have done it in the past.

That, and maybe looking for donations from companies? If you start early you're bound ot have better luck with things, especially if you know anyone at all who works for a company that might have an extra couple lying around.
