Today was a good mail day!

Received my signed and numbered copy of Caitlin R. Kiernan's Two Worlds and in Between: The Best of Caitlin R. Kiernan (Volume One) as well as my hardcover "Kickstarter Limited Edition" of Dennis Detwiller's Through a Glass, Darkly.

That's pretty nice - and a pretty Lovecraftian.

Hmmmm...

That latter book is one of the Delta Green novels, right?
How are those?

If you like the setting of Delta Green, or enjoyed the grimmer stories of X-Files, they're great.

But they lack some of the humor that Stross uses to lighten the load in some of his works - the humor is more gallows than not here.

Worth picking up used or on PDF to give it a try if that is the sort of style that you'd enjoy.

Oh, if it weren't for gallows humor I'd have no yuks at all, some days. :/
I'm okay with a darker version of the Laundry tales; I did go out of my way to pick up David Drake's horror collection From The Heart Of Darkness when it was out of print, after all.
