Not a bad lot so far. Very lippy, will freely tell you that you are boring, that they will just up and leave school if they want to, when they are not talking or yelling at each other. Definitely not a quiet school by any means. I'll borrow a phrase from another teacher because I wanted to "Light the room on fire and lock the door" for my last ( Read more... )

Don't let the the little bastards get to you, show 'em your kick-in-the-nuts side if you have to. I really hope things work out well at this school, and I'm wishing you the best!!!

Here's what you do....

Take a page from your typical prison inmate. Pick the worst one. Then make an example of him/her. Usually afterward the rest will fall in line after that. Strike the fear of Eea into them. The the little chitlins won't be such pain in the asses. Showing them any sign of weakness will only result in them running all over you.

Or you could just let one of us beat the shit out of them.......

The phrase "fear of Eea" is enough to scare me, and keep me in line.

Hang in there - btw - can you use those 'box tops' for education - I was looking around the house the other day and see that we have these little coupons on a lot of things - not just cereal. We probably won't use them so if you would like me to collect them for you I will.

I also think that Markland should invade the school and make the most smart ass kid the meat shield

If anyone is up to the challenge of teaching and getting through to these kids, it's you.

I have no doubt that come school year's end, a few will count you as a role model; someone to be looked up to and admired.

Help them find their creativity. Maybe they've simply never learned how to express themselves properly, and you're just the fiery ball of inspiration to teach 'em how! :)
