Summary: Lizann, Jonghyun's high school best friend, visits SHINee for the first time since SHINee debuted in September 2009.
This is my first attempt at English fiction except school's composition and also my very first attempt at fan-fiction, so please bear with me and guide me along the way! I have posted this in SFI so some readers may find it familiar? (:
The general idea for this fic is that it would be read like Lizann's diary, although in later chapters there would be a lot more point of view by other SHINee members.
Prologue
The school bell rings in the distance. Slowly but surely, excited students voices fill up the hallway, and fading off in the distance as they all left the school.
However, not everyone left. Han Lizann sat in class 3-1, staring at what used to be Jonghyun's seat. She sighed at the thoughts that came to her mind, and how much she missed him being around.
Just then, her phone rings. She scrambled through her bag for the phone, as she knew that he must be on the other line. "Hello?"
"Zann? Where are you? I'm here already! Meet me at Gate 7 alright, I'll see you there." Jonghyun's voice sounded a little impatient; he didn't really like waiting, from what she knew about him. "Alright, see you, I'll be out in a minute." Lizann hung up the phone straight after and left the classroom.
Jonghyun's car was already outside Gate 7 when she reached. She knocked slightly on the window before opening the door. "Hyun, I'm sorry for being late," she apologized. "Yah, it's okay. Where do you want to go?" Jonghyun smiled and pinched her cheek. "Hmm, anything? I don't have anywhere in mind."
"In that case, let me drive you back to my dorm. Time for you to meet the other SHINee members." He grinned, and sped off into the distance. How was she going to react to that?
"I don't believe I took all the way till now for you to meet them. I mean, it's almost two years since SHINee was formed, and I haven't brought you to them yet? That's my bad." Jonghyun was having a self-lecture session, and it always happens. She knew she don't have to answer him, just listening will do.
"Why haven't you asked to meet any of my members yet? Are we so normal in your eyes? Not attractive or good enough for you to ask about?" He was rather concerned about this, and also rather surprised that he only thought of it now. She shrugged, "I don't know, with you I think it makes this whole thing different? Like I'm so familiar with you and such, don't seem like celebrities anymore. I mean, celebrities are popular because people want to know more about them right?"
"Well, I guess that's true. ...Anyway, what's with you today? You sound so straight. Something happened in school?"
He's always so thoughtful. She smiled a little, and shook her head. If anything were to happen to make her unhappy, that would be him.
"Well, well, alright we can talk about that later. We've reached! Get down the car, NOWWWWWWWWW." He roared jokingly, messing up her hair a little. She grumbled a little and tidied up her hair a bit. "Kim Jonghyun, wait for me!"
SHINee's dorm, as a guy environment, she expected it to be rather messy and such. However, it really shocked her when she walked into a clean, bright and aromatic apartment.
"Hey guys, I'm home!" Jonghyun announced his entrance as soon as he stepped into the apartment, sounding very relaxed.
"Jonghyun? I thought you said you would be out... Oh, who do we have here?" Ah, that's Onew, the leader of the group. He looks rather confused here, and it's really quite comical. The other members, upon hearing Onew's comment, came out of their rooms to take a look.
"I can't believe I took so long to bring her to meet you all! Guys, this is Lizann, and Zann, I hope I don't have to introduce them to you." Jonghyun chuckled a little, but he was really afraid that she didn't know them.
"Yup, I know them all. That's Onew with the chicken in his hand, Taemin with mushroom hair, Minho who is the tallest, and Key with his rainbow fringe," Did she imagine a little unfriendliness from Key as compared to the other members who waved and smiled back? "And of course, Jonghyun, the shortest." She gave him a huge grin as she said that, to cover up her thoughts about Key in front of Jonghyun.
After laughter from her comment, they all went to sit in the living room. "That's nice, you know all of us! You want some chicken? There's some more back in the kitchen." Onew looks embarrassed about her mentioning the chicken, and tries to cover it up with a kiddy smile.
"I had chicken for lunch, so thank you." She rejected his offer, and that leaves Onew confused. "How can you have too much chicken..." He murmured under his breath, but everyone caught it, resulting in further laughter. Hmm, Key is still rather cold...
"So, Lizann, how did you and Jonghyun hyung meet?" Taemin, being the youngest, probably has the most curiosity as well. "Well," She thought over the question for a moment, as she wasn't sure how to answer it. Key seems to inch a little closer right now.
"Han Lizann, you better not speak ill of me! I'm gonna take a bath, so tired." Jonghyun gave me the deadly stare, but she greeted it with mehrong. Guess she won't have too many bad things to say either.
"We met in middle school, we were classmates and best of friends. We shared a desk for 3 semesters, all the way till he joined SHINee." she recollected and summarized their relationship in a short and sweet way, when she stopped, they looked like they were expecting more.
"That's it? Don't you have more juicy bits like, how did you two get together and like, the holding hands, first kiss and such?" Minho must be really craving for some gossip. Everyone closed up a little more and showed a lot of enthusiasm in the topics mentioned.
"I'm sorry guys, it's not what you think we are. We are just very good friends with each other." She laughed it off, and felt a little hurt somewhere in her heart.
"No, not an item? And he calls you Zann?" Key finally spoke for the first time, and he looked a lot friendlier now. She shook her head, trying very hard not to show her disappointment. "Yup, nope, we are just really good friends."
Jonghyun, I wish we were a couple.
