My lunacy was quite comparable. I was enrolled in a Christian private school for grades 8 and 9 and drew pictures of the rapture for art class.

I have an idea.

You're very bright. That's something intrinsic to you - you had that no matter what your ideas and opinions were, and even no matter what your education was.

And when you're very bright, you can really take something and run with it. Including some things that may later seem ridiculous or even a bit scary.

Like if you were a bit of a dunderhead and couldn't spell and had bad grammar, and wrote something like this, it would elicit a piteous chuckle at worst.

But you have the power to train your incredible intelligence onto anything at all. And when it's trained on something controversial, it freaks people out. I'm still wrestling with all that. My prior zeal even freaks me out. If I weren't very intelligent, I'd have to worry about merely hand-painting myself into corners. You have to worry about power-spray-paint-exploding yourself into them.

Anyway, I do not think it is lunacy at all. Pastoring was a great fit for you; a way for you to engage the community, help others, and use your teambuilding and public speaking talents. Haha, who knows, perhaps by 2020 your thoughts will have changed again, and that will be exactly what you will be doing.
