More Pantheacon
So, last night I went to two things.
THe first was "Aikido and Alchemy," taught by Paul Rest. Basically, he had us do a very simple Aikido mini-technique (basically just a blend). Once we had figured that out, we invoked the elements one by one and did the technique, examining the effect it had on the technique. It was FASCINATING! Some of the people there were, like me, aikido students, but a lot had done other arts or no arts at all. It was pretty cool. I discovered that when I train in Aikido, I am really, really connected to Earth. It was kind of surreal to also embody another element at the same time.
The Red God Revel was put on by Thorn, Anaar, and Morpheus, and was pretty frigging awesome. It was very simple -- we danced and chanted and raised power which we then sent up to the Red God, and he let some of it rain back onto us.
That description doesn't do the experience justice, though. As we chanted "Sex, Pride, Self, Power, Passion, Love, LUST!" and the drummers drummed, the swirl of power was intoxicating. The Red God danced with us and people began to clap and stop and cry out in time with the chant, and all was sex and the hunt and potency. I felt amazing.
It probably helped that I wore a red outfit I look fairly phenomenal in, and felt pretty sexy to begin with. :) On the way to the revel, people kept looking at me and for a little I thought maybe I had spilled something on myself or forgotten to put on pants or something. Then I remembered, oh, right, I'm wearing a bright red outfit that shows off my shoulders and is totally awesome. Durr. XD
I slept in this morning because I've been feeling pretty ratty, and am now waiting on Lon Milo Duquette's Best Presentation Ever to begin. Woo!
