well i was watching the news last night and some guy said something to the effect of all you anti-war protesters better stop for a minute and thank the soldiers over there fighting to make sure you always have the right to protest if you want to ( Read more... )

i know what you mean. i dont judge people who are against the war, and im not gonna tell them my opinion. but like.. how could u be that fucking stupid to saay shit about the soldiers who are out there fighting for our country. today dan said he hates this country.. so i told him to leave. well god dammit.. if u dont like it so much.. how about i just take away all ur rights... there dan now ur not born wiht ne.. and how about i strip u all ur dignity.. bc maybe bc of what u wear.
i wouldnt wanna live newhere but here... even tho.. lately... our freedom of speech has decreased.. and if we say im gonna shoot you.. u get in trouble.. they are doin it for our safety.
so im def for war.. and we're gonna win.. and all those men, women, and children who are not brainwashed by suddam.. are gonna thank us for saving their lives.

how can you comment negativly on freedom of speech except to complain that its slowly being taken away? but i hate it when people complain about that, because its just an effect of war, and once its over we'll get it all back. its one of those things that always always always happens during wars.

but i'm going off on a tangent, so i'll stop.

I agree that this country was founded on the concept of freedom. I am proud to live in a country where we have the freedom to disagree with our leaders, the government, our President, and each other. We can burn our flag, march on our capital and publically declare whatever we desire. There are however, laws, rules and regulations, these are the cost of freedom. And I will gladly pay it. If we don't like the rules we can go somewhere else, or we can fight to change what we feel is wrong, thats the beauty of our country. We are so lucky here, we take for granted the ease with which we access things...information, internet, libraries full of "controversial" books, visiting family in other states without a passport to cross state lines...and the list goes on. Be proud to be an American, but realize that all we have won was by the blood and sweat of others. Don't take for granted what we are so fortunate to have, work to make it better.
