Fiction: A Guiding Light Fairy Tale

Disclaimer:  I don't own her... Just appreciate her.

Characters/Show: My friend Jailynn and loosely on Guiding Light

Rating: G - It's a Fairy Tale silly!

Author's Notes:  I have for sometime wanted to give something back to someone who has given so unselfishly of her time and talent to keep the Cooplee fans entertained and together during a time of less than perfect.  This idea blasted its way into my head last night, so I just went with it.  Laugh if you must, it's okay.

Summary:  How a beautiful princess rescues the characters of Springfield.

Feedback: Sure, why not?

Once upon a time in a land called Springfield there lived some people known as characters. These characters were of many different sizes, shapes and hair color. They were good people who were ruled by a Head Writer. The Head Writer dictated everything. He issued a book of orders every week to be delivered to each of the characters. These “books” spelled out every aspect of the characters lives. What they wore, who they saw, what they said.

For the most part, the characters were happy to comply with whatever demands the Head Writer handed down.

Over the course of a couple of years, the rules became more and more senseless. The characters were ordered to do things one day that made no sense the next. Their lives soon lost meaning and they became unhappy with the weekly orders and the Head Writer.

One summer day a beautiful princess visited their town. She had heard about the Head Writer and wanted to see for herself the magnitude of people that could continue to live under such demands and still comply with a smile. They must certainly have the largest hearts and the determination of a team of horses.

Once she met the Head Writer and many of the characters she realized that the characters were making the best out of a bad situation because they truly loved Springfield.

That evening when she retired to her room at the Beacon, an idea ran from her mind and onto paper. The next day she went to the Head Writer and brought him a copy of the Orders she had written the night before. The Head Writer was astonished at how beautifully written and imaginative the orders were.

The Head Writer immediately sent copies of the new orders to all the characters. Soon the characters were flocking to the Head Writer station. They were all smiles, anxious to get started on their new orders and grateful for the beautiful words.

Once everyone was gathered the Head Writer spoke to his characters: Characters it is my honor to inform you that I am stepping down as Head Writer…. there were gasps of shock…. he continued.. I would like to introduce you to the composer of your newest orders and new Head Writer…… Princess Jailynn… Applause and chants rang out over the Kingdom…. Princess Jai, Princess Jai, Princess Jai…..

Princess Jai took over the kingdom of Springfield, the characters led exciting, challenging and full lives. And the Head Writer…well he moved to Washington D.C. and started a new career as a political speech writer.

THE END
