The cell structure of molds is actually more similar to ours than it is to bacteria. Since modern antibacterials are designed to kill bacteria without killing us, that means they generally won't kill mold.
Mold doesn't grow in an area without a source of water. You say they fixed the leak, but there has to be some sort of moisture source in the area to support the growth you see.
Until you get rid of that moisture source, the mold will come back. Fix it and clean up the mold in the area, and you fix the problem.
