aiyo... some people have voices like that lo. like tracy chapman sounds like a guy sometimes. nice version of this song though :) so sweet! oh and btw, you can't tell if it's falsetto until you hear his speaking voice. for instance, a guy with a deep speaking voice might scream like a girl. that's falsetto. if a guy with an already naturally high voice sings a girl part like soprano or alto, then I don't think you can call it falsetto. just what I think.

and oh, he sounds like any regular guy when he speaks normally. there are alot more videos where he sings using both guy and girl's voice. pretty good.

I don't see what modal voice has to do with it. modal voice is the range of tones you use for speaking using your vocal chords, not just making breathy noises. you use it to say words like 'am' and 'an' but you don't use it when you say 'ssss'. that's just breath, no sound. and he's obviously using voice, the sound is solid, not airy. falsetto is still solid (ever made a guy scream? it's a pretty piercing sound with very little breathy noise... yeah, I know from experience :P). so yeah. modal voice has nothing to do with it imo. if he doesn't talk like that, then this is most definitely falsetto. if he did then I suppose you might be able to call it modal voice if that's how he speaks and pronounces words, even then I wouldn't refer to it as that. I'd just call it his normal range.
