The company has the right to give discounted memberships to whomever they want. It's not the government, although the government sucks too.

The company ONLY asks for a marriage certificate because people were coming in using the couples discount then they would stop being friends or one would not pay the bill and the company would have problems.. They want for us to be able to but cannot go against their policy. It is the government cause like I said in my post, if we were able to we would have gotten married a year or two ago. For crying out loud, we have been together three years (in May) and live our lives as a married couple. We share a house, our finances, the children...our lives! Even though I am not thrilled with Lifetime's policy, I don't blame them as much as the government. Bush is an imbisil and I cannot wait till he is out of office. Not that will change same sex marriage issues, but anyone has to be better than him.

Find another health club. Write a letter to LF telling them why they lost your business.

I called around and all of the clubs near us have pretty much the same policy. I really like Lifetime as a health club though. They have everything I could ask for there. I just think it should amend this policy for same sex couples cause there is just no way to make anything legal for us right now. *sigh*
