We had a family emergency last week and because of the incident, Macy and I have gotten pretty close. TJ had to leave town for 3 days and it gave me and Macy a chance to be together and really connect. Our neighbors across the street have been going through a very messy divorce. The husband is abusive and manipulative. Last summer TJ and I ran over to their house at 1:30 in the morning because the husband got drunk and abused the wife. This past six months have been a nightmare for her and her family. The kids are sick again. I took Macy to the doctor last night and she tested positive for the flu. This morning Aly woke up with a temperature of 100.4. Aly's fever has gone up since this morning and has not left her bed all day. Macy and I just got over being sick for almost two months straight and now it's back! Well after some research we have found out that the crappy work done in the basement was not done by the owner before us, but by the owner before him. We ran into our next door neighbor at the gas station the other day and he asked what we were doing in our house because of the two big dumpsters in our front yard. Well, our neighbor and his friend ripped out some more walls down in the basement to find that nothing was done to code. Everything from the type of lumber used to frame walls to the lousy, not to mention dangerous, wiring. There is tons of mold because the insulation used was wrong. This year I gave myself two New Years resolutions to concentrate on. Usually when I give myself more, I get overwhelmed and don't keep any of them.
