Just got back from Balticon. It was fun, but would have been better if we had a room at the Hunt Valley itself, and if the girls were more into it.

Not in Maryland. Many other states have a version of the 4 year rule as well.

I had similar issues with Snowcrash. Written by someone who clearly had no idea how computers work, and yet it was pretty much the main part of the plot. Sad really given how much else about near-future society he got clearly 'right'.
