The Last Continent
by Terry Pratchett
Have I (typoed to ai, which I considered leaving...) mentioned that I love Pratchett? I know, join the club...
Rincewind is the repeating character I enjoy the least, even though he presents a very useful literary device. I found the God of Atheists rather soft in this one, but Pratchett was clearly speaking more of Darwin than Dawkins, so that makes some sense. The creater/god dichotomy was fun enough that I'm trying to lure
scooterbird to Discworld ("one of us, one of us"). Death, of course, is charming in cameo.
I just wish he'd followed up and told us what Slood is...
