I know I haven't been on in forever. My 'puter time has been sucked into listening to podcasts (because podcast pickle is having a review raffle). Not sure I like listening at the pickle too well - their player is a bit wonky. I may be switching to podcast alley or just keep downloading from individual sites. Good luck with the lunch gig - I find myself running out of ideas by October, though I usually start out well. Today mine had muenster, lettuce and tomato sandwiches with the tomatoes packed seperately so they didn't soak through before lunch. What passes for school lunch these days, however, is so far from what I want them to eat that it's not even a choice (especially since they rarely have vegetarian options for Rain).

Getting back into schedule is hard for everyone involved - mine have spent a summer of sleeping in till noon and staying up late. We started last Monday, so it was a chipper morning for all ;-)

You're in PG, right?

At least in Howard they offer a salad every day. The girls tell me it's edible.

PG claims to offer salad as an option, but they also tend to run out if you have a later lunch. Add that to the tendency to have about 2 minutes to eat your lunch if you wait in the line....I pack.

Ah, the stress and disruption that comes with a new routine. /: We don't start till next Tuesday. Meaning this week, we all have to get up at "ready for school" times. I am actually expecting a stress explosion shortly. The school hasn't sent out teacher assignments yet, and open house is Thursday, when he finds out who is/isn't in his class. He's been on pins and needles about that for a couple weeks, now. Something's going to go boom shortly after, regardless of who is and isn't in his homeroom.

Sounds like you need to start buying fruit by the bushel (:
