Back when Saturday morning cartoons actually were the prime time to see cartoons, my brother's and I had our time meted out in small increments. Thus the argument as to which of us picked last, etc. etc. One that was never the loser - Scooby Doo. It was what the additional half hour would be that was the fight. My vote: Land of the Lost.
The end of good cartoons, by rene's telling. It was the first (or one of the first) to have a full half-hour plotline instead of several short ones. She never forgave them for that.
Sign me up for "the beginning of the end". The year Scooby-Doo came out was pretty much the year I stopped living for Sat. Morn cartoons. After that I'd watch them, but no longer was it a life & death matter to be up and ready when the first show started at 7AM, and stay glued to the TV until the last one was replaced by the "educational" kids progamming.
