oh, i've heard of them all. i'm a member of ohnotheydidnt, which is like this huge celeb gossip community, and those things (well, besides WoW) are talked about all the time.
wow has its highs and lows. for me, at least. it's way more fun when you're playing with friends, though. it's like playing make believe when you were little. really awesome. my bf is too obsessed though, that's the down side. there's these "raids" to kill 5-10 different big bads with 20 other people and it takes 4 hours. i don't put myself in the position to be in a raid, therefore i can bail out on the game whenever i want. others...can't/won't and it gets annoying.
that's probably more information than you need and to little on the game itself. when you're playing against other players, it's more exciting.
so to sum up...the appeal of all of those things is being 15 or just really in to stupidly addictive things that really don't give much back.
though i did read 2 1/2 books of twilight just for the hell of it. and it's...really not worth the time.

-Just heard of last week, and was like 'wtf?' and that was it.
The rocks we live under are in the same neighborhood.
