Youre banner <333 While I love Tegoshi and Massu because they are, well, epic.. Koyama and Shige just make me wibble into a puddle of squishy fangirl goo :)
And I have a few of those random empty journals following me.. they make me wonder what's up.. guessing they are bots or something, I don't know.. but yeah they say they have 2 journal entries but there is literally NOTHING there >.>
Aren't they just the most beautiful pair ever!! There is no other bond like it!! *melts into a puddle of goo too*
And yeah, the ones that have added me have a fandom related icon most of the time, but empty journals. Though with your dilemma not being able to see the entries, often if they have the posts friend locked, it will say they have those posts but you won't be able to see them. They make the mistake of friend locking without an intro post that is public.
But I don't get it in general, when people add others without saying a word. Yeah I understand it if there is a note ont he page saying "don't ask just add" but otherwise it's seems a little odd to me. I always try to at least tell someone I am going to follow them. it's a mystery :P
I've added people and forgotten to say something.. or I'll do it when commenting on something they've posted.. I'm notoriously forgetful though I've spoken to most of the people on my flist at least once or twice.. some I've even broken message threads with :D
And secondly - I know the feeling, I occasionally get random journals adding me, sometimes they are actually genuine fangirl journals with a few flaily entries and stuff but I've never spoke to the person :S
It's not like I'm fussy about who adds me or anything, it's just that the only posts I lock are ones with personal information/pictures, so I'd like for the person to at least say Hi to me before I let them see everything :S That's not selfish right? >_
not selfish at all. And is the same reason i saw the need to do this. But now I'm wondering if I should go through and f-lock all the posts from previously that I would now consider personal.
the thing that puzzles me the most though..... isn't it just common courtesy to introduce yourself when you are friending someone?? communities are different yeah, but when you watch someone's personal journal it just seems polite to say hi first. I always ask before adding someone, even if I've been talking to that someone for a while, or if we have run into each other many times, I still don't feel comfortable adding them without asking or at least telling them i'm doing it. hmmmmm the world is a puzzling place.
Put in a different light, I guess it's a little flattering, cause some do look like fangirls journals, which means there are people around that want to know what I have to say (or at least want photos haha). Makes me happy in that sense XD
I totally get what you guys are talking about, though. Ever since I started translating I got quite a number of people adding me (at least more than before), but most of them are either empty or people that I've never seen before (they didn't even comment on my translation posts either). But since nowadays I post more translations that actual substantial posts (speaking of which, I might do a voice post again, soon. haha), I just let them be and let them use it as a rss feed for my translation or smth, lolz.
lol i love the fact that your comments are always so randomly placed :P
Yeah I suppose if i think of it that way, I started up my giveaways which is the first time actually contributing to the fandom, and it's only been happening since then, so i guess that could explain a little bit. but the same with them not responding on your translations, they don't seem to enter the giveaways or anything. But in the end i'm not worried, just going to hide anything personal from general view ^^
