ZOMGGGG the essay geek portion of my brain is currently flailing. THIS WAS SO FLAWLESS AND AWESOME I CAN'T EVEN. I'm trying to think something more coherent but all I've got is "jsdhkashdkajhkd." If you're not gonna be able to sleep, I'm glad your brain at least rewards you with such brilliance. :D
Also, this:
She closed her eyes and sighed after he said those words, and I honestly think that she was prepared to go to her grave not in pain from a bullet but in peace because she finally knew for sure that he felt the same way she did.
KILLED ME. The thought that their love story could have ended at that moment but that at least Beckett would have been able to go in peace is just... too heartbreaking, but the good kind. Sigh.
Hee, thanks hon! I'm too cute to do ~deep thoughts often (wait, why are you laughing?), so I'm glad my blathering made sense. :D
And re: "Knockout"...the little smile on her face at the very end just made me immediately think that she's like, "He'll find the killers -- my mom's and mine. I trust him enough to do that." And then in "Rise" when they said she'd actually coded... I DON'T KNOW, I JUST HAVE LOTS OF FEELINGS, OKAY?
Aw, thanks hon! I'm so glad you're enjoying it! It's one of those rare shows that gets better with age. And like I said, when you look at where they've been and where they are now, them saying "I love you" aloud is just formality at this point.
NEXT WEEK WHAAAAT. I can't wait. It's going to be angsty and glorious and Beckett crying shouldn't make me this excited, but whatever.
I think you'd like it. Very character driven, that nice combo of serious case drama and lighthearted banter. It's a good watch for those loooooong summer hiatuses.
I don't think there's anything I could add, since this is so comprehensive, except that your dissection is utterly brilliant and spot-on and brilliant. You should do more of these :)
Aw, thanks, honey! I was just excited I could make my insomnia seem worthwhile...:D
I'm sure there'll be more to say in the wake of "Kill Shot," so if my brain recovers from the awesome that is bound to be that episode, we'll see what it can come up with.
