"finally, i found you," She said. "you, looked different from this sketch, i nearly didn't recognise you"

He looked at her. Not knowing what to reply. He felt that something was missing. He is glad that he finally get to meet her again but he felt weird. Awkwardly weird.

"i.. " she started. "my stop is here"

He looked up. It was true. Its her usual stop. He nodded.

"can you please follow me to a place?" She asked, sounding awkward.

He nodded. Not knowing if it was the right thing to do.

They both got out of the bus.

"you, changed your style," He finally said something after a long silence.

She sighed and shook her head.

"i'm not her," She told him. He pulled his confused look almost immediately.

There was a long pause. They were walking towards a small cake house.

He sat down while she served him hot tea. He looked around. The place is nice and cosy, flowers are everywhere. It was dimly lit and he noticed that a few couples were sitting nearby.

"man, what am i doing here," he sighed.

"sorry to keep you waiting," She said, arriving with cakes.

"is this your place?" He asked.

She nodded.

"i've been searching for you for a year, i can't believe that i finally found you," She smiled. "i have something to give you"

"what do you mean when you say that you're not 'her'?" He asked, poking his cake.

"she's my sister," She said, pulling out a photo.

He looked at it. True enough, he looked at the pair in that picture. One dressed exactly like the girl that is sitting infront of him, the other resemble a much more familiar image. The white rose, the sweet smile. He fell in love once again.

"that's Daeyeon, and i'm Daeyoung" she sighed. "she's very good at sketching. That is my only clue to find you. You're not that bad looking either, you reminds me of my idol" she smiled awkwardly at her remark.

With that, she handed him a pink letter.

"i'm suppose to give this to you," she said. "you can read it when you get back"

He sighed. Putting his hat down for the first time, taking off his shade as the dimly lit cake house looked dark behind the shade.

Daeyoung gasped.

"Kim Ryeowook?" she asked. He could see that she was trying to suppress her shock.

He nodded. It looks like he doesn't have to introduce himself after all.

"oh my, i shouldn't have mentioned about that idol thingy," Daeyoung muttered under her breath. Positive that there's no way he could have heard that. But unfortunately, he did.

"where is she?" he asked, a little too impatiently.

Daeyoung sighed, looking out of the window. There was a long pause. Ryeowook watched as she took a deep breath and exhaled it slowly.

"she's.." she stammered. "...gone"

Ryeowook stared at her blankly. He swore that she saw a single tear left her right eye before she quickly wiped it off. It looks like she's determined to look stronger than she really is.

He felt it. His heart, broke. Shattering inside of him as soon as he heard the word 'gone'.

He sipped on his tea.

"....when?" he asked quietly, looking down at his cup.

"today, last year," She almost whispered.

The day he helped her with her books, when it fell. Ryeowook thought. The day when he wanted to get off the bus to talk to her.. his last day, boarding the bus a year ago. So it was her last ride too.. Only she would never come back.

.... All the words he never had a gut to utter. It seems like he won't be able to tell her.

"she wanted to give this to you a week before that, but she never did," Daeyoung sighed, pointing to the letter.

"she suffered from cancer," Daeyoung explained. "it was too late when they found it, final stage but she was living her life normally"

"the whole family began to screen themselves, fortunately for me, the tumor can be removed," she sighed. "but nothing can be done about her"

Ryeowook nodded.

....

Its been a few month since he discovered that his "lover" had died.

He had read the letter, which was beautifully written. She had expressed her feelings well, he find himself reading words that he couldn't express himself. Certainly, she felt the same way.

He finds himself visiting the cake house every now and then.

He felt her presence when he sat there.

The familiar apple scent.

Ryeowook stared at the girl who is sitting in front of him. She smiled while watching him eating his cake.

Her smile isn't the best smile he had seen.

Not as sweet as Daeyeon.

But with each visits, he find it to be sweeter than the last.

Ryeowook glanced at the red rose clipped between her hair.

Maybe, just maybe.. He fell in love again.

(okay, i know, this sort of suck. Well, at least i managed to get it done before it turned to some horrible chaptered fics with no sense of direction.. *glance at previous abandoned fics* :3)
