In tasks without an explicit indication of our overall progress to our goals and how satisfactorily we perform, we rely on the feedback of others a lot just to have a clue what's going on, and to make sure we're not about fail horribly and permanently.
I would hesitate to call anyone in Character Select mature or grown-up, including myself as the oldest of us. It would be a bad idea to enforce grown-up behaviour on them, as three of them are actually children who deserve to live out their childhood, and Doran is in charge of maintaining our innocence. Doran usually does blame us for any and all failures, as she knows that we are capable of performing to very high standards. It has its advantages and disadvantages when she is performing her other role as work supervisor (she equates hard work with high moral standards, so the two are not separate to her), so she has recently been contested by others who think they would make a better supervisor.
