Interesting. One wonders that beyond fear that someone will outright plagiarize and then try to make a profit from their work, which is not what fanfic is, but it seems they perceive it to be, I wonder what drove these people to their particular POV on fanfic? Could it be perception that their world is the classical term of quintessential? Like the perception once that the heavens were forever unchangeable and thus perfect? For some I fear it's insecurity and ego that someone might write their characters just as well as them, if not better than the original author. We may never know the true psychological root behind each author's stance on being against fanfic, but thank God we have those who either turn a blind eye or embrace it.
