Hey... today I am offically putting in my two weeks notice... the following is the copy of the letter... tell me what you think:
August 11, 2005
Dear Wade,
First of all I would like to thank you for allowing me to work for you; I understand that it is not often that you hire high school students, and I thank you for giving me the chance. The problem is that I have become overwhelmed with a lot of things this year being my last in high school; due to this time crunch I feel it necessary for me to give something up. This something, unfortunately, has to be the job which I have only worked at for 3 months. My mom and I talked about it and decided that it be best if I leave now before things pick up with the business. This way you will have time to get a new employee before things start to really pick up. I am not going to just quit as Jamie did, but please consider this my two weeks notice. On August 25 I will no longer be working for Jersey Mike’s Subs. I will try my hardest to make it very clear to the guys that I quit because all this job, school stuff is too much for me. And I’m asking you to please be professional and not completely ruin my reputation. I promise that I will work my absolute hardest these next two weeks.
This next request is slightly off the subject, but next week I need Monday and Saturday off. I’m willing to work on Tuesday and Friday to make up for the lost hours. I need Monday off because an old friend is in town; she’s gone off to college and is now back so I want to spend as much time with her as possible. I need Saturday off for a personal reasons. Thank you for all you’ve done in helping prepare me for the working world, and have a good day.
