Yup, I Still Hate Cold Weather (Rant)

Yup, it's been really cold for a while now (wind chills down aroun 1 or 2 degrees Fahrenheit), and I still hate cold weather. When we recently had a day that got up into the low 30s, it felt positively balmy by comparison and that is just plain wrong. Hee, it still cracks me up you call DC as being in the South. Man, I'm am so with you on the freezing cold temperatures though!!! I hate windchills below zero...it sucks. And I'm in a car for the most part. I would HATE to have to walk around in it!!! I never get warm at my office. I'm on an outside wall in a building with no insulation and crap ass windows!! It's COLD!!!

Heh. I work in DC, but I live (and grew up) in Virginia, which is definitely the South! OK, admittedly most of the rest of Virginia disowns Northern Virginia as merely a suburb of DC, but I grew up in Richmond, capitol of the Confederacy! It's a touchy issue for Virginians, especially those of us who grew up being taunted by cousins from North Carolina who called us Yankees, and had to be reassured by our parents that we were not nasty old Yankees, we were every bit as southern as the North Carolinians. Oddly, some Marylanders consider Maryland to be the South on the basis that it is below the Mason-Dixon line. I think many in DC consider it to be a very southern city, but a lot of them have never lived in the South, so they're only comparing it to cities elsewhere in the US, and not to other southern cities.
