No dreaming of a white Xmas

Dec 18, 2009 00:53

This year it will be a reality for the first time in several years. And not only the West Coast of Sweden, but the whole of the Scandinavian peninsula (Sweden and Norway) looks set to be covered in powdery, white precipitation. Slade live!

Does your town shut down after a few inches of snow?? Mine seems to..

But yes, a white Christmas is a lovely thing:-)

Nope. Things slow down a bit, and there are some initial congestions, but after a few hours busses run (more or less) on schedule again etc.

The trams in Gothenburgh in winter is another story though, a bit like that Duran Duran song: "No, no - Notorious! Notorious!"

Actually, "Slade live!" is a Fridén brothers in-joke lingo term meaning "nice!". Like exclaiming "Bauhaus!" after having made a trumpet noise means that somebody is walking around (more or less) starkers, or "Transformer-trousers" means somebody is having a hard-on. Me and my brother are a funny lot...

You know, of all the people on here, I think you came the closest in sharing the most interests. It seems I could discuss just about anything I found interesting with you, especially in music and theology. No one else around here could go from Einsturzende Neubauten, ABBA, Fleetwood Mac, early Scorpions, Velvet Underground, John Cale, dance music, King Crimson, and around to Anthansius, Lossky, or the reasons why SVS Press was always the better choice if the Classics in Western Spirituality series had the same title. You're own spiritual progression and wrestlings with Christianity, Tradition, and the Church mirror my own in so many ways, and I'm really going to miss having those connections in my life. I will pray for your family, and I will miss you very much.
