Why complain in one place when two will do?

Feb 23, 2009 08:42

Short version:

Car broken into. Gaming stuff taken. Folder/notebook (non-computer) with all my characters, notes, etc. Dice/figures in a crown royale bag.

Police report filed.

Anger cooling.

Repair shop called for window replacement.

Too damn early for beer.

Yeah... but I also have an eye exam scheduled and am going to try to get into work at some point...

We must form a citizen's committee to stop geek on geek crime.

After talking with a couple window repair guys (both the guy who replaced mine and the guy who was replacing my neighbors), it turns out that this is on the rise in the area and Charlotte is also seeing a lot of it as well.

The breaking in and taking things, not the 'nerd thieves' thing.

With the economy going to pot, expect to see more of it. I'd clean anything of apparent value out of my car and maybe even leave the doors unlocked.

My car was broken into a few years ago. They stole a portable disc-man which was probably worth $5 bucks at a pawn shop. The new window cost me $150. Where is the justice?

You find the guy who did it, and I'll make him look like he got chewed up and crapped out by the Lake Erie monster.

Seriously, though, I'm sorry to hear that.. you'd think at a time like this, another gamer would understand that we NEED our stress relief hobbies. *sigh*
