Oh, thank you for pointing this out, about the Laura/Lee scene! Especially this bit, which reminds me of the "big picture" public issues: I'm not sure she wouldn't cut off her right hand and toss Adama out of her life if she thought it was necessary. Even when betrayed, her personal feelings don't drive her the way they do Adama. *nods vigorously* I tend to get hung up in the minuscule details. And in this case, that's exactly what the private issues become, in the face of the public ones. After all, their personal issues wouldn't be that compelling if they weren't interlaced with public issues. (Separation of the public and the private shperes? Yeah right! It's a big myth.) So now that I'm thinking "big picture" and "public," yeah, it wouldn't be appropriate for the private issues to crop up during this scene, even though they're inevitably lurking under the surface. As you say, the big issue here HAS to be that she’s exasperated with him and his idealism. It would only blur the clarity of the scene to overtly bring up the ( ... )

Btw, I was wondering. How do you manage to write such coherent reviews of these episodes, so soon after watching them? I'm lucky if I've posted by Sunday afternoon! You are always spot-on! Just wondering if you have a strategy, cause if so, I'd like to hear about it! Of course, it might be that I have to watch the episode at least twice before I even consider posting. . . and I rewatch particular scenes A LOT. (Basically anything with Roslin in it, or Adama.) LOL. *facepalm*

You said it all, but I so agree that it's incredible that Laura didn't fire (or airlock, for that matter) Tory on the spot. And how interesting that when it came down to it, it was Laura whose trust she wanted, not Baltar's. Eeeenteresting.

when it came down to it, it was Laura whose trust she wanted, not Baltar's. Eeeenteresting. Very "eeenteresting" indeed, my dear flamingo! I think Tory's always annoyed when Baltar ends up making a good point against Laura. She may agree with some of his principles in the abstract, but I think she may have a problem with his way of acting upon those principles. Of course, this is TORY we're talking about, who isn't afraid to use the airlock herself. So who knows? :D I still feel a little sorry for Tory, because she's always had to live in Billy's shadow. And Laura's always had a hard time letting Tory get close to her, because of Billy. She really wanted to establish that no one could fill his place. *sniffle*

that trust is an act of faith.

Yes! This is a great observation, and amuses me to no end, considering the last episode was "Faith." Almost as if last episode was about wanking on theoretically about questioning and deepening faith, whereas this episode tests their ability to act on it. LOVE. So next episode, the results episode? Potential outcomes of trusting people? Surely for Adama and Tigh, I hope.

OMG I LOVED the Laura/Lee scenes. Glad to hear your take on them :D I agree, we need to see more investment from Laura in Lee, or an acknowledgment of something. Her lines in that last scene, for me, really leaned in that direction, almost as if: no I'm not going to show you I care directly, but I'm mentoring you, and that is what really demonstrates my belief that you're the future of this fleet. So, even if it's more Laura mentoring Lee, I'm game. - Especially if that leads to Lee/Zarek conflicts :D

Oh, yay! Laura mentoring Lee. MORE, more, more. That is such a Laura-way of addressing their relationship. Geez. You totally have the Laura-speak under control. :D

I cannot wait for the next episode! It's been a long wait. Don't know what I'll do during the hiatus, if this seems long. I think you're right to nickname it the "results" episode. After all . . . those trailers looked pretty action packed. I'm really worried for Adama. He has always put such trust in Tigh. Even when Tigh looked like a complete idiot on the stand, he told Tigh, "you never embarrass me." He got a whole foundation and philosophy built on trust and love, two emotions that are very abstract and require a lot of trust. Love is about "thoughts," and trust is about faith. I'm cowering in a corner, over here! :(
